Here is one solution to the current monetary monstrosity.
Like Lincoln's "Green backs", Britons "Talley Sticks" or Roman bronze coinage, provide just enough money (without interest) to facilitate commerce for the benefit of the populace.

At the Federal Level, Congress should control and issue the debt free money-Not the Federal Reserve which is a privately owned bank. Just enough money will be injected into the system through normal budget process. Existing money will be replace one for one with the new debt free money, and start paying off the national debt.

To prevent inflation, Reserve requirements are gradually raised at the commercial banks eventually requiring them to have 100% reserves.

The commercial banks can then only lend the amount they have in reserve and must compete in the open market for additional money, thus making banks competitive once again.

On the State level, a state bank is charted, much like the very successful 90yr old Bank of North Dakota. The state deposits it funds into the new bank and uses fractional reserve lending to their advantage, making loans for roads, bridges etc. at NO INTEREST.

When loans are repaid the money is removed from the system this way you create wealth without creating a permanent increase in the money supply and the consequent inflation.

While I wish all these are my unique ideas in fact you can find most all of it on videos done by Bill Still such as "The Money Masters" and "The Secret off Oz".

It is funny that you give value to gold, jems, and rocks. I had to look up gold to find its uses. Gold actually has a lot of uses, but they amount needed to function in all cases is so small, it really doesn't add a much to the value of gold in manufacturing. Jems have almost no value in? manufacturing except for decoration, and rocks only have value in decoration. Money is worthless, but it is a better system than bartering with goods.

i wouldnt lump gold and jems etc in with money....everything that 'actually' exists is used for many purposes. gold have many uses such as heat resistant, wiring ect, same with jems or 'rocks', can be used in manufacturing etc.? MOney is worthless no matter how u look at it

Basically, if you use money instead of trading goods, you can put a number on what's going? on with the economy. Governments know what to do (kind of), people know how much something is worth, and people will work to get their number higher.

There are three functions of price, signalling, rationing and incentive. Basically, governments need information to be able to set VAT, interest rates etc correctly, so that they can react properly to whatever is happening. With trading, there is no paper trail, so anyone with any power to help is in the? dark.

The housing bubble ...
The housing bubble was fantastic while it lasted, thanks to easy loans. But at the time we were in a positive output gap, so it is to be expected. As for idiots taking out mortgages, there needed to be some more personal responsibility. This isn't, however, to alleviate the blame off banks completely, but they? are run by extremely intelligent people, and it is in their interest to keep the economy going. All economies have a general trend made of booms and busts, and we hit a bust.

Do you not think this is a? bit simplistic? Yes, the banks have made some awful mistakes, yes, they were over zealous, but we need them to loan as much as possible to increase GDP, especially in a bust like we're in now. Blindly hating the banks are not helpful, and it's not going to be easy to fix them. What we need is a reserve asset ratio, to prevent it in the future.

We don't really need to use silver, we can just start a state owned bank w/ no interest and debt free. The rest are electing the right politicians,? not like Obama, the most sold out politician in the world. We followed by making sure that the government only give money that they have. a simple solution IS: take all your money out of the bank, if possible, close your acounts. step2: dont give? them your money through any way whatsoever, could be by the media, or just buying stuff through them, dont do it, keep the money circulating within ourselves. step3: share the knowledge, but the true knowledge, and unify. I agree with the moral outrage. But the Ron Paul supporters that made this video have got to face up to the facts. despite tripling the monetary base, inflation has remained near record low levels. AND interest rates have remained low, despite trillion-dollar deficits. Clearly something is lacking in? your quantity theory of money approach to explaining the current and future debt outlook for the US.
